Badass Nai Palm

Nai Palm is an extraordinary artist, whose musical prowess shines both as a member of the innovative band, Hiatus Kaiyote, and in her solo work. Hailing from Australia, she not only captivates us with her harmonious melodies but also champions the rights of indigenous peoples with unwavering passion. Her journey, marked by early orphanhood and a triumphant battle against cancer, serves as a perennial wellspring of inspiration. Adding to her allure is her choice of instrument - a metal guitar, the Pro Series Rhoads R3, affectionately dubbed 'Michael Jackson.' This choice reflects her fearless and unconventional persona, reinforcing her position as a true maverick in the music industry. Beyond her musical talents, Nai Palm is renowned for her distinctive makeup and adornment style. The image I selected for her portrait captures her unique style, featuring a crystal headpiece crafted by another brilliant female creator I deeply admire, Yeha Leung. This mosaic, for me, was a tribute to the incredible strength and creativity of two remarkable women.
